A couple of weeks ago I met a local smf member (Indyadmin1974) aka Mike, and we decided to get together and have a cookout. I hosted this time around. We started off with some ABT's stuffed with mozzarella string cheese and italian sausage.

Then we did a whole pork loin (cut in half) rubbed and smoked @225 over hickory and apple wood. Here they are out of the smoker. I decided to give Dutch's Mahogony sauce a try. It was very good.

Here is the finished product with my homemade potato salad, spicy deviled eggs, and Dutch's baked beans.

Close up of the pork.

Mike's wife Kelly brought rice krispy treats and banana cream pie for dessert. The pie got scarfed down before I got a picture unfortunately.

A good time was had by all and we plan on doing this again.

Thanks for checking out my Qview

Brad

Everything looks great, Brad. Glad you had a good time.

Brad, you're killin' me with the qview! I just stuffed myself a couple of hours ago and your post made me hungry again. I have yet to do a pork loin. I only hope that when I do it comes out half as good as yours. I'm sure Mike and his wife were delighted. I'd love to host a cookout for other SMF members but I'm the only South Texan here

. Anyway, POINTS to you if the point system even works.

Thanks for sharing the QVIEW,

Tom

What a beautiful plate of food, and it sounds as if you and Mike had a great time! Meeting some of the folks here on this site have provided me with great friendships and some awesome food!

You threw it over the top with the rice krispy treat, those are my favorite dessert of all time! Points!

WOW! The food looked great! Nice smoke ring on that loin, and after just having pork chops this evening, the thought of a banana cream pie sounds too good!

That's a great looking meal. Thanks for the Qview, or should I say drool-view.

I can personally attest to the taste of all the beautiful que. My wife and kids and I were fully gorged. My daughter even tried the ABTs which I never thought she would! Brad and his family were great hosts!

We'll have another smokefest at my house soon. Thanks again Brad and points to ya!

Very nice looking loin and ABTs...glad I have some leftovers for dinner from my first loin that i did yesterday. So would you highly recommend the mahogany sauce? I sauced mine with some of the juice collected in the foil while it was resting and that was great.
