So I made my first batch of beef jerky and am thrilled with it! I used eye of round cut 1/4" thick and trimmed of all fat. I used the Cabela's Peppered Jerky kit for seasoning and cure. Smoked it over pecan and apple at about 160-165 for 4.5-5 hours. Today I bought a Foodsaver vacuum sealer to pack it in small packages. How long does it last now that it's vacuum packed? And just keep it in the pantry, fridge, freezer? Thanks!
