Injected Friday night, on the smoke today at 1330. It's a brisket only gag, but my first comp either way... Shoulder surgery be damned!, I'm pulling an all-nighter with a 15 lb'er.

Wish me luck fellas.. I'm launching the Pit 4 Brains BBQ Team as of Sunday High Noon at the comp...

Good luck and go easy on that shoulder

I have a good idea of what this is going to take from you as I just had shoulder surgery a week and a half ago. Look forward to hearing how everything goes, good luck !!!

good luck and if i can get free i might head out.............

Thnx all... 1/3 into the smoke and I'm right down the middle.. The neighborhood has a delightfull smell of pecan about, and some thunderstorms are trying to poke in from the NE..

 Is this block party comp?
No, not really. It's a local gathering of AZBarbeque.com folks. I't's being hosted by a Valley Q joint and some other local sponsors. Kinda like a run-what-ya-brung event instead of the Winter Nationals NHRA drag race..
do we get to see party pics?
I'll post up as much as possible..

i think you will be fine, i'd be really suprised if it rains tonight.............nice choice. i love pecan!

yup, i pulled up a different one and it forcasted the cell would fizzle out just as it hits us...............like usual. on the other hand, like usual, when are the weather prodictions ever right 'round here.

I'm native to Mesa and have been a weather bug since I was knee high. This is a tough place to forcast rain during the monsoon. The other night we got squat for rain and i watched it fall on my moms house in NE mesa for the whole evening. Ya never know where the flows are gonna be..

we got a good batch last time..............it's a little wet right now. grabbin' a ceegar and gonna go out and enjoy it! btw-i am at baseline and hardy, where are you at?

Lindsay and university..

I got my smoker jammed way under my porch now.. It's pouring down in sheets and a blowin sideways.. my fire's good..

Maybe this will snuffout some of the unprepared competition tomorrow..

I'm gonna check my juice pan, stab a temp probe and take some q view at 2230, half way... stay tuned..

yea, definitely sideways and coming down in sheets and some thunda!. i guess the smaller rigs might have an advantage. is yer portch facing the south?

yup...

I don't care.. I've kept campfires alive on the rim when the slickers all got douched out. I have some blockage and a towell ready for any rain.. I'll explain later in a pm.
