The first things we smoked on the New MES was 2 chuckies and 2 Racks of Ribs.

The first few smokes are not going to be anything but bare smokes, just the basics, just seasoned meat, no foiling, brining, etc.

Here is the qview of the chucks: (Wife took pics and It is a new camera so she is not real good with it yet.) Finished qview to come later.

Chuck #1: Coated with Cracked Pepper & Garlic Yoshidas from Ronp then coated with a rub I got in an exchange with mballi3011.

Chuck #2: Coated with Hawaiian Sweet & Sour Yoshidas from Ronp then coated with a rub I get to do in exchanges with other members.

I found the problem with bad images, make sure if you let your wife take pics to tell her not to touch the center of the lense with greasy finger, leaves a fingerprint...

Here are some picks of chuck before pulling.

Well Paul you are smoking up a small storm aren't you. I do like the Gator Rub it's some good stuff ain't it??? I like your chuckies too. But yes next time tell the wife about her hands too.

The rub is not bad. Has a nice bite...

Good looking chuckies. I used the Tailgate rub on my last ones with Yoshidas and they turned out great also.

I hate to ask this question but here goes, I assumed that a "chuckie" was a chuck roast, I know assume I am wrong, sorry to ask such a question after i've been here awhile, but I wanted to try one this weekend so..any help on what the actual cut of meat is called would be appreciated.

Paul,

Your gonna wear out your MES!

We love to marinade and slow cook Chuckies on the grill and I bet they're even better slow cooked & smoked in the MES. Never used a rub on Chuckies, but now you got me thinking???

I've used Canadian Steak Seasoning in the past with good results, but gonna smoke one with rub this weekend.

Pulling a Chuckie out right now!!!
