Im gonna do my first chuckie tomorrow along with some other things. I was at the grocery this morning and took a look at the chuck roasts they had and they all were 2-3lbs and only 2-3 inches thick. Am I wrong in assuming that I need something bigger than this?

Well for me I like to have them around the 7lb range. But I like to have some leftovers. Now for you I dont know how many will be eating this thing. Now I would get alittle bigger one for you haven't had one before and I know when you taste how good this hunk of meat is you will wish you could have found a 10lber I know seen it been there done that and have the shirt too.

I've only done 2 chuckies so far but I haven't been able to find them bigger than 3 lbs but that was at the grocery. Maybe a butcher shop would have bigger?

Im not necessarily concerned about the total weight.I just didn't think it would turn out right. I couldnt imagine if a "butt" was only a couple inches thick, regardless of the weight, that it would turn out as awesome as a normal one.

thanks for the feedback everyone.... I'll be taking pics tonight and all day tomorrow..and will be post my first Qview!
