First butts on the new Akorn

  1. Rubbed these yesterday and let them sit overnight in the fridge. Put on the smoker at 10 AM.

    Ready to go in the cooker

    2 Hours in

    Happy smoken.

  3. Does the biggest part of the bark form towards the end of the cook?
  4. 3.5 hours in. Holding steady at about 250*
  5. Sorry so late. Butts came out pretty good. Smoker help temperature really well.

    Oh yeah....... Look at that pulled pork! Those butts are beautiful. Man thats just awesome!

    You don't need luck, but enjoy the smoke.

    It doesn't matter. You will have fun, it will taste great, and you will post Qview (I hope).

  11. Looks good and I'll bet it even tasted better.  Just about any meat or vegetable can be smoked and come out fantastic.  I did a pork butt yesterday with some sweet potatoes (sorry - did not take photos - will do so next time).  Smoked sweet potatoes are a great side to a pulled pork meal.

    That sounds good Tuscon. I wouldn't mind one day just doing an all veggie smoke to try different kinds. Saw a post earlier with asparagus, so I have to try that now.
