If,I didn't already have 2 BGE'S, an MES40 and ajust about done RF I would be looking at a Pellet Pooper....big problem for me is leaving it outside. I refuse to haul a BBQ to and from the already overcrowded garage....

The Louisiana Grill lineup all come with waterproof covers if I'm not mistaken – mine did, and I've had no problems with water despite several torrential downpours and extended periods of rain since I purchased it. Bringing mine inside is simply not a realistic option so this was an essential piece of equipment for me as it will live the rest of its life outdoors.

Not only was the cover included with mine but the logo was accidentally printed in the wrong spot - it looks like somebody might have loaded it into the silkscreen machine the wrong way – it's still fit perfectly and it was purely a cosmetic issue however when I brought it to their attention with some pics Louisiana grills sent me a replacement no questions asked - suffice to say I was extremely impressed with their customer service right out of the gate. :)

Not sure what was said, but my experience has been nothing but stellar so far.   Coupled with a 5 year warranty and the fact that they're made on this side of the pond instead of somewhere in China (like much of the competition), I'm even more pleased.

I'm sure you can find a "dealer" that will talk smack about any brand of product, that doesn't mean that the salesperson isn't biased against a manufacturer/brand and is actually basing such on fact, not rhetoric.

I will be going to see this fellow sometime soon....will ask him to repeat what he told me. The day we spoke we had talked about several different manufactures.

Will be interested to hear what he says, but I suspect it's something along the lines of a biased used car dealer who's partial to one manufacturer (Say, Ford) and downplays all the other GM and Chrysler vehicles he has sitting on the lot just because it's not his "personal choice" in brands.

But I know there's a lot of people with far more experience with different smokers than myself, so I'm interested nonetheless...so please do followup.

Hello,

New to the forum, but have been smoking for years now. In fact, I recently stared my own BBQ business, doing catering and will also be doing fairs and festivals next year, hopefully roadside with my trailer by Summer of next year. (Sorry for the brief introduction)

Anyways, to the point at hand. I own 6 different smokers, *well have owned I should say (sold some), including now having a Southern Yankee Rotisserie that can hold nearly 90 racks of ribs at a time, as well as others like the LG Pellet Smoker. I have to say, I have used my LG Pellet for nearly 2 years to test a ton of rub/ marinade combinations, and have had wonderful success with it. Coming from a traditionalist mentality, generally being a stick burner for many years, I have to say the meat comes out great.

So, just wanted to give my 2 cents, as someone who has used and tested many various smokers, that the LG Pellet is a great line of pellet smoker, in my humble experiences thus far.

Thanks, and look forward to further future discussions.

Your results look very tasty.  Please don't take this as an insult, but I'm questioning if you pulled it off the smoker a bit early.  It doesn't look like it pulled that well.  If you take the IT to 200 - 205, it should literally fall apart.  It looks like you may have had to do a little tugging to get it apart.  I would guess that you were in the 185 - 190 range, but can't be sure.  Again - just an observation that may or may not be right.

Advice appreciated, no problem. I relied on the LS's built in temp probe to reach what was indeed 205 indicated IT. It's possible it reads a little high.

I shredded by hand and didn't go out of my way to get it into particularly small parts, so that might have had something to do with it as well - I tend to like bigger chunks of meat personally though I can see how it might not be as traditional as expected. It came apart easily though but yes, I suspect it could have been a little below the "perfect" temp - I'll double check using a separate probe next smoke. :)
