Hey everyone,

I've been considering making the plunge for some time now, and it happened! I had a Westinghouse fridge I was using for a kegerator for my home brewing, however, over the years I found that more and more I was bottling. Then, it happened.. The condenser went out... Without that... why use it for a Kegerator?! I'm starting to convert it into a smoker for the spring season ahead of us. I wish I had a ton of time to dive right in, but this will be a weekend project that may not get attention every weekend.

Attached are some pics of what I accomplished today. I pulled out all the insulation and cleaned out the guts. I'll be going with a Roxul insulation and the Smoke Daddy Pellet Hopper

Hopefully next weekend I'll be getting some cuts made to insert a new stainless door frame. A lot of the motivation came from u/scootermagoo and his build. It's already painted black, but I'll be looking to do likely a Kansas City themed design. Any ideas are welcome!

use this controller for your build. It sis the best thing since sliced bread, no one as made anything nearly as good as it in any PID build ive seen on any forums, I am building my second fridge smoker and using this controller again.

+1000 to this. I listened to Mike's advice and went this route. After 8 smokes, I'd pay twice the price to replace it. As Ron Popeil says, "Set it and forget it".
