My first time ever smoking a brisket.  Very happy with the results

Per Jeff's tips, injected with Beef Broth, then rubbed with a light coating of garlic powder, fresh cracked pepper and my own rub:

I smoked with hickory at around 225-230 until an internal temp of about 160.  Then I wrapped with foil.  About 45 mins later it hit 205 and sat there in the smoker for about 2 hours steady at that temp.  Dinner time I unwrapped and let it rest for about 10 mins:

Brisket sliced like butter and was moist and tasty.  Mrs. Yotzee raved about it and asked if I could do one for Christmas

Here it is sliced up, sauced, and a side of bacon jalapeno mac n cheese

And Sunday's left-overs, brisket sandwich and a cold beer!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!  THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP AND INFO, MY FAMILY ENJOYS EVERY COOK I DO, AND THE TIPS I HAVE TAKEN FROM HERE ARE THE KEY.  THANK YOU ALL!!

That looks amazing!  Oh, I'm not a huge Linny's (beer) fan, but that Snowdrift Porter isn't terrible!

Actually the porter was the only thing I wasn't happy about.  We had it on tap last year at the bar I owned and it was delish.  In the bottle it was just meh...

I thought it was decent for a Linny's, which I have pretty much sworn off.  I've had oddles of home brew and craft beer and they just don't seem to have the same quality of beers that I seem to like.  I still haven't had a good IPA from them, but I was surprised by the Porter.  I was expecting this overly sweet, vanilla filled beer, which I wasn't too keen on but I needed something seasonal!

If you can get it where you are at, try Southern Tier Old Man Winter Ale, or Great Lakes Christmas Ale

    Noted!

We don't see much Southern Tier in Iowa, heck, I'm not sure they even distribute here.   I have seen it in MN though...
