First Brisket and Corned Beef with Q-View

    Just got done with my first Brisket and Corned Beef. Came out great started smoker at 2 am this morning and threw the beef on at 3 am. Smoked all day until about 6:00pm and it just got to 160* so I foiled it and cook it the rest of the way in the oven at 250* until it got to 185*. Was worried it would not turn out but it did. Had to do it because everyone was starving. Wish I would of soaked corned beef in water before smoking because it came out salty to me but my dad loved it and thats all that matters because it was for him on his B-Day[​IMG] Brisket was still moist and great flavor!! Thanks everyone for the help!!!!!

    Well it sure looked great Willie, salty or not.
    Always heard you can do the "fry pan test" before you get ready to smoke so you know how salty it will be.
    I figured it was some sort of intricate procedure but when I checked with ronp about he he told me basically you slice off a piece, fry it in a pan and eat it, if it is too salty then you need to soak it longer.
    Congrats on a successful smoke, glad your Dad enjoyed it.
