We had planned on doing a bacon cheeseburger fatty, cornish game hens, and jerk pork tenderloins but while out grocery shopping on Saturday we found a good deal on Boston Butts at IFH Chefsmart so we picked up the smallest package they had. Having read a few dozen threads about it here I felt comfortable taking the plunge.
Yeah, 15 lbs was the smallest they had. Brought it home and coated it with mustard and liberally applied Manny's Butt Rub.
And then on to the smoker it went for what seemed like forever. I am now in desparate need of sleep. lol
But it was well worth it. We now got a ton of juicy pulled pork.
Bathed a little bit in chipotle Tabasco and was very impressed.
The bacon cheesburger fatty was a bit of a failure. Too much hamburger, the thick cut bacon was a bad choice in hindsight, and all of the cheese seemed to disappear. It wasn't bad, just not what I was going for. I had filled it with shredded cheddar, onion and diced Klausen pickle spears.
The cornish game hens my wife prepared came out looking and smelling great.
And the pork loins are always good.
We also smoked 2lbs of garlic and mozzarela chicken sausage which came out awesome.
