Fire pit smoker

Like title says, looking to create a smoker over my fireplace. Esp for when I head out fishing/hu ting, would be nice to be able to build something there, then take down and reuse later if possible or not.

Does anyone have any ideas, tips, links to videos or PDFs that could help me with this idea?

I know I've seen a make shift one on a survival show years ago and always wanted to put it to use, but cannot seem to find a template to use.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
