i have read the stick burning 101 article. i have the wrangler. I keep getting fluctuating temps. I start with a half chimney of charcoal let em ash over good. then i add two mini logs by western. Oak wood. let them catch fire and start shutting the lids, i leave the vent about half way. my temps go up past 275 even when i shut the damper. i can shut the damper without killing the fire because my SFB side door has a small gap that allows air in. so i add a split of a split when temps get down to 225. this raises my temps back up and it will only last for about 15-20 mins of good temp. Should i try minion method with a basket? anyone else having the same issues with the wrangler. it is just a small smoker with thicker steel so it really heats up
