Finishing Pork Butts in the oven??

    I just smoked two 8.5 lb butts for 6.5 hours and I cant see anything out here as I dont have any outdoor lights, so I moved them to the oven. Im at 174 right now and climbing about a degree every 20 minutes.

    Im in the stall, but am I going to retain a good smoke flavor by finishing in the oven? Im more concerned with overall flavor than bark at this point.

    You should be fine lots of people finish butts off in the oven.

    Yep [​IMG]  6.5 hrs. will a good flavor . Non shame in using the Oven and finishing a Butt. They are very forgiving.

    If it's a bone in , when the Bone gets loose , and it is tender(toothpick test) , then remove and rest before Pulling...[​IMG]

    Thanks guys...house smells unbelievable...

    Or is that my hair and clothes Im smelling?? Lol
