Finally got one.

fiinally after so much time I got an AMNPS. I was really impressed based on all the reviews here. 

Alas, I guess what you folks got was completely different from what I ended up with.  I got a piece of crap. Totally screwed up as far as build quality goes.. Completely cockeyed, built assbackwards. PM'd Todd multiple times and got no answer. I waited a week or so, hoping to get an answer... Didn't happen.

Todd got back to me. He's sending me a new unit. As he said it should work fine as it is (it does). But it should never have gone out to the store like that.

Sorry to hear about your problem but I've never had a problem with any orders from AMAZN.  I've never had to contact Todd for any problems but I would say there may be a circumstance in his life that may be delaying a reply.

Sounds like a mixup. Did you check your spam folder? I've only ordered once from Todd but the process and communication went very smoothly. He even went the extra mile to customize my order. Email his wife Rhonda at [email protected].

Call him 8 times out of 10 he answers the phone himself.

He has scratch and dent sales periodically.  Maybe they accidentally sent you one of those. Definitely call them.  With emails you don't know if they have checked them.

Well, let me take my foot out of my mouth.

First, I wan't to apologize to Todd. He did reply to my PM and is sending me a replacement.

Basically the unit I purchased had a few manufacturing defects. One of the dividers was welded on crooked and backwards so that the closed end was against the side of the box. The whole thing was twisted so that it did not sit straight. A few days after I bought it I ran half a load of pellets through it. I guess the heat caused the metal to expand and that popped one of the spot welds.

That's when I PM'd Todd explaining what I had, and after not hearing from him for a week, I guess my frustration got the better of me and I posted here.

This morning I check my PM's and Todd has replied.

Anyway, last night I decided to run a full load of pellets to see if this thing would work and be useable.

I started at around 5:30pm and when I checked around midnight before going to bed, it was around half burned and still chugging along nicely. When I checked this morning it was completely burned and I'm guessing probably I got around 11-12 hrs of smoke, and it didn't pop any more welds.

So, for anyone who doubts the AMNPS or Todd... Don't. It's a first class product and Amazen Products has great customer service and they stand behind their products.

I would definitely call and talk to Todd or Rhonda. They are excellent on customer service and making sure their products are quality and the customer is satisfied. I have bought both new and scratch and dent AMNPS and they are all good products. I credit the forum and Todd Johnson for my success with all the smoking and charcuterie that I do now thanks to both sources support,

This is way I always praise Todd's great customer service. I've been buying from him for 3 years and it's why I continue to buy from him.

I had no doubt that Todd would get back to you and make things 100 percent right. Todd has gone above and beyond with me and all of the forum folks that have used his products. I have had an MES40 electric smoker for over two years and I have never used the chip box for smoke. The AMNPS does a great job for both hot and cold smoking. I have learned from Todd and the Forum how to properly prepare the pellets that I get from Todd and also proper placement and air flow in this unit to assure great smoke results with the AMNPS. My results have been so good that I would not waste time using any other source for smoke in this unit. Also note that I have made no modifications or added air supplies to get this unit to work. I am located in Oklahoma City and the elevation and cosmic airwaves must be just right for my smoking needs. Just kidding about the cosmic airwaves!!!! I hope your results are as good and you enjoy smoking meats and other products with your AMNPS.
