I dont think anyone has asked this questions but i'll ask anyway. I have a Kimchi Refrigerator.  Now that's what i call it, it's not the brand name.  Basicly that's what it's for. My understanding is that it can be adjusted to lower temps and keep needed humidity if needed and even can be a freezer.

I got this from my oldest daughter who got it from my former wife who passed away. It is brand new and i believe it cost $2,000 or in that area. My former wife was Korean and she was going to use it to ferment kimchi. My daughters want me to make kimchi and i even thought of making home made kraut in this good sized unit. However i also think i can make sausage that need this kind of a unit like hard salami for example. i'm in the proccess of getting a manual that would be in english for this is all Korean and i dont know how to even turn it on LOL. So anyone know anything about this unit? if not i can understand because i have never seen anything like this before. thanks. Reinhard

Thanks Tom!. I have the one like the Samsung Zipel model zt221prtbw but the brand name is LG. it has 8 large plastic containers in side with 4 on each side. two different doors on top. each side can be operated with different temps i believe. like i said before, all the digital buttons to push the settings in front of the unit is in Korean so i have to get in touch with LG for a English manual. thanks again. Reinhard

Reinhard. Oh you have a jewel.  As you may or not know, when making kimchi or other fermented vegetables, they require different temps at different stages.  If you need help, I can direct you to some good links for making kimchi.

    I am excited for you.

Tom, thanks a lot, i am excited about this unit. As far as making kimchi, i have been making kimchi for many years. my favorite is cucumber kimchi although i do make it with nappa cabbage and daikon radish also.

Black, the model number for this unit is GR-K192AF

KathrynN, thanks and when i start i of course will post pics and methods/recipes used. even the plastic containers are unique.  on one side alone i can make enough kimchi or kraut to feed the neighborhood LOL. i also want to get into fermenting sausage as well. Reinhard

Reinhard, Same here.  I have over 6 gallons of different varieties of kimchi plus over 8 gallons of kraut in the cooler now.

Will look forward to your posts.
