Feet wet

  1. Hi all,

I'm new to the idea of smoking food (though one of my most vivid flavor memories from my childhood is of a friend's father's smoked chicken thighs).

Central CT isn't exactly known for it's... Well anything other than arogance. But um here to learn as much as I can.

I'll be using a small brinkmann electric smoker, assuming the weather ever cooperates.

Thanks ahead of time for sharing what has or hasn't worked!

  2. Hello BobNobody and welcome to the fun.  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  The trial and error method works well.  We will try to help you keep the errors to a minimum since we already made ‘em for ya.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do. There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums. Just a teeny bit of information for some of the rules here at SMF before you get started, off site links are not allowed. http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/a/terms-of-service.

If you need any help roaming around the forums....give me a shout. I will be happy to help out!
