Well I am having a lazy day at home waiting for the wife to come home from work. I decided to have one of my favorite meals polish sausage and potatoes. I know its kind of funny but I boil the polish and potatoes together and I just love the flavor the polish give the potatoes. Put a little butter and pepper over the potatoes and I just can't get over the flavor. These are some of the sausage we made last weekend. Nice slight smoky flavor I am very happy with the results.

    Boiling the potatoes and polish.

All ready to stuff my face.

Yea I always get carried away when I start cutting up potatoes. When I have baked potatoes I barely eat one but when I have smashed potatoes with butter I eat like three. I always have left overs which I like then I have something to eat for lunch the next day.

Great looking meal! I'm like you; I can make myself sick on mashed potatoes. Gawd help me if I had gravy to go along with that plate![IMG]

Good looking sausage,RB. We're all by MT fans at my house too - may never tried to boil anything with them....hummm.... I'm thinking that will happen soon at my house

  10. Looks inviting. Got to give it a try. I've always ate perogies with it or used the leftovers for red beans and rice.

My grandad's specialty was fried potatoes and onions with Polish sausages sliced. He fried them up in a cast iron skillet and it is one of my favorite meals to this day. I'll have to try the boil that you showed. Thanks for the great new twist on an old favorite!

One of my favorite meals, since I was a kid, is fried polish and potatoes. The fat from the polish coats the potatoes and it all is mixes together to make an awesome dish. We add sweet peppers and onions to the mix. Guess it's just one of those "Comfort Foods' a guy get used to.

Yep you are right its a comfort food. I remember the days when I was a little kid and my dad would be heating up a pan of polish on the little wood stove in the ice fishing house. Good times.

Its funny, what you made looks like how my Nana used to make bangers and mash. She would use beef stock to cook it down and then add a light rue to thicken it up and make its own gravy. I made some the other day and let my kids just DESTROY it. No left overs for lunch. Well done.
