Hi all. This is my first dutch post. My brother and i love dutch oven cooking, so wwe showed his kids that you can really cook pie in "that thing".
Pretty basic recipe. My niece made a from scratch pie crust
We had 6 granny smith apples
Butter
Brown sugar
Cinnamon
Start by coring the apple. Then stuff a pad of butter in there, along with as much or little of the brown sugar as you want. Set the apple over your pie crust, and wrap it around the apple. We dont peel the apples since the skin is super tender anyways. Then poke a few holes in the top like a pie, sprinkle some extra cinnamon and sugar on them, and put them in your preheated dutch. It took about an hour to get them as you see in the picture. This is our go to camping dessert, and we made believers out of his kids!
