Hello; Just learning I live in TN. about 10 miles from east of memphis. I was searching the web looking for info to convert a old frig into a smoker when i found this great site. I have a 50s model in good shape. I can't wait to get started on my project. Dont know if i want to go gas or charcoal. A friend of mine has one he smokes on all the time he uses charcoal. Ribs take about 3hrs and butts around 7. Nothing fancey he uses the old crisper to put the coals in. Thanks again for great site and all the info dp34.

Welcome DP -

There's been a few fridge smokers in here. Dacdots and Canjun had one for awhile. might want to search there post from last year.

If I had a 1950 fridge I throw a row of about 5 taps on front of that beauty and make me a kegerator!

Glad you're on trhe SMF. Always nice to have someone who wants to learn more about good tasting Q.

Welcome to the forum! I went over to memphis a few weeks weeks ago to the NHRA Mid South Nationals.
Beale Steet was awsome. Good "Q" and cheap beer!

Getting it cleaned up and old plastic removed.
