Down flow design help needed

  1. Does anyone have any experience with a down flow system?

    I'm hoping to design a cooker that uses down flow where the heat and smoke are released in the upper third of the cook chamber and the exhaust is in the lower third of the cook chamber forcing the heat to flow down to cooking grates before finding the chimney.

    I have some experience with that problem. If there is not enough air flow the temperature will stack in the CC. Meaning 100 degrees difference between shelves. I corrected my problems with about twice the chimney a reverse flow smoker calls for.
