Smoking Meat Forum,
I really need a grill and I think it will be much more fun to build a grill from scratch, rather than buy one. My brother has a welder and all the tools required to do it. I know where to find 55 gallon oil drums for free, this is Texas after all... So the help I need is tips and tricks to turn this into a reality. I have found a design online that I really like [ http://www.theathomewelder.com/2010/01/04/diy-drum-smoker/ ]. I'm thinking about using ceramic engine paint on the interior as it's more tolerable to higher temperatures. I'm hoping that I can use this for charcoal (or gas) as well as a traditional wood smoker. I'm super excited about this project and this is my first post. Sorry if I posted this on the wrong page.
