Do you have a favorite wood chip?

    I am a newbie to all of this so I had a simple but maybe dumb question.

    Do you have a favorite wood chip brand for an electronic smoker and why?
     
  2. I don't run an elec smoker ...but I like peach or apple for pork and poultry and oak for beef.
     
  3. It depends what I am smoking. [I use a charcoal barrell offset but type of smoker is independent of wood used].

    For pork, I use cherry as well as apple.  For beef, mesquite.  I also like whiskey flavour [made from whisjey barrels].

    xzebra, morning and welcome to the forum....     different chips for different meats, cheeses etc....  I use whatever wmrt sells...

    For electric smoker chip  Brand name, I use Smokehouse wood.

    Fish = Alder and Apple

    Cheese = Apple

    Beef =.........I rarely smoke beef but have used Mesquite  or Hickory
