DO Beef Stew

    Now is the time of the year that the local markets put beef on sale.. let say it’s not the most desirable cuts. But we will make do.. So bottom round is $1.77 a lb. a three and a half lb was like $7.00!! So let’s make some Beef Stew!!
    Start with our beef.

    Cut the meat into steaks and then cube them. Into the DO with the bacon grease

    Then after browning removed the meat and added some butter and flour to make some beautiful Blond Roux

    Then 3 12 oz cans of beef broth and added the beef back in. Let it roll for 2 hours at 350 on the SSP

    Added 3 large Russet Potatoes, 5large carrots 2 carrots 8 oz Tomato Paste , 2
    cloves of garlic and 16 oz 0f diced tomatoes

    6 oz brown sugar and 4 oz of lemon juice. Just simmering till potatoes are soft. Super easy

    So here is the finished dish. Came out awesome. You gotta try it. btw the DO was bought in the sporting goods department for $19.00

    Bad Azz! Never saw someone make a roux and then put broth in like that. kind of reminds me of New Orleans way of cooking.
    Love the butter in there.. lol

    If I try it I will use a bag of wine and 2 cups of peas. :p
