Nebraska - Go Big Red!
I am going to finally get my self a digital probe or two. I would like 1 for smoker heat and 1 for meat temps. I was thinking of getting the Taylor 1470 Digital Cooking Thermometer/Timer on amazon and I was going to get two. I don't want to spend a ton of money on my first one. Any suggestions or is this a good starter? Thanks for the help every one.

Maverick ET732. its a little pricy but well worth it. Also the maverick has 2 probes. 1 for meat and 1 for smoker. you can set high and low temp alarms too.

Count me in as a 732 guy too - the new unit seems to have eliminated the issues and is accurate

I have the Taylor that you are thinking of getting. It works pretty good but the wire is rubber coated and the last thremo meter I had like that didn't last very long but this one has lasted a couple of monthes so far with no signs of wearing out. I also have a couple of single probe Mavericks and one of the probes have given up all ready after about 5-6monthes of service. Now I do smoke alot maybe 3 times a week.

Ok I have looked at them long enough. When I get home I am going to get the Maverick ET-732. If I am going to spend the money I am going to get something that lasts. Now I need it to warm up a little so I can get out the smoker I am craving some ribs!!!!!

I've heard a lot about the Mavericks. I guess when my Taylors, & Accurites bite the dust I'll join the Maverick club too.
