So I just want to put it out there and see if my instinct is correct in my recent money splurge...

So after searching around craiglist I came across a few bradley smokers...all the sudden just a few hours from me is a brand new still in the box...for $250. Oh it has 3 24 packs of different wood flavors. Yeah so I looked it up...to buy this all new its around $550 before shipping.

So basically does anyone agree that this is an ok buy? Still new to smoking and all but I hope like hell I made a great buy!!

My first 'smoker' was a Bradley.  Fairly easy to use and a good first step into smoking.  I've moved up to a Rec Tec....so, for the $$, the Bradley is a good 'set it and forget' smoker.  Get an idea on what an how to cook using that....then save some $$ for your next step.  Overall, that is a good price, especially new in box.....congrats and enjoy.

Well I have a Char-griller offset....just definately tired of the constant watching the fire and firebox. With the holidays coming up and a turkey that needs to be done Id like to spend time with the family while the bird cooks along.

I enjoy the "baby sitting" that I have to do with my smoker. But I can definitely see the allure of set it and forget it. Maybe someday when I settle down and get off the road, I'll go that route. And it sounds like you you made a great buy. Good luck and good smoking.

Its not that I dont enjoy being outside with my offset because I mean I think I smell good enough to eat after a few hours while waiting. Just with the colder weather coming up and lots of family at the house I want something that is the set it and forget it to interact with everyone. Thanks fo the best wishes and I to hope this endeavor is a great one!!

I just bought one on Saturday. I have been reading about them, talking to people about them, and also seeing comments about them. I was first introduced to them from the founder of this web site. I was new to smoking, and my wife bought me a propane one. I have since gotten other smokers and I love them all. I have 4 smokers, not to mention the other grills I have that I use smoke boxes in to add flavor. I love it. I got the 4-Rack one. I enjoy the features that it offers and the freedom that it allows. Like previous comments, with the holidays coming up, I want to set it and forget it. Go make memories and visit. You will love it, but be warned.....You have started down a dark and slippery path my friend, you will never go back.....smoking is a way life.....but every one around you gets to enjoy it..LOL Best wishes and have fun!! Great purchase.
