Hey all Grillers,  Name is Shaun active duty military currently deployed to Afghanistan been in country for about 8 months almost there.   I'm actually going home on my 2 week R&R during the 4th of July week and plan on grilling out and smoking some meat for some friends who have been helping with my family in my absence.   Just looking to get advice on smoking some meat,  I'm thinking about getting a brisket, pork ribs, and a few other meats.   If anyone is in the Fort Collins Co.  or Cheyenne Wy. area is aware of where I can get come good meat please let me know!    Thank you and looknig forward to getting some good education on this forum!

Sams or Costco are where I usually shop for meats the most.  They do have some good prices!

Jeff offers a free 5 day E-Course.  It's packed with great information to use...no matter what your experience level might be!  http://www.smoking-meat.com/smoking-basics-ecourse

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums. http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/a/terms-of-service

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

Thank you all for the info you have provide so far and welcoming me to the forum.  I look forward to learning more about smoking food and grilling.   I am going to take that 5 day course Kat when I have some time.  we work a pretty wild schedule 7 days a week here in Afghan in my unit.   All I am proud to serve and thank all the others past and present who I am currently serving with.    I'm looking forward to grilling out on the 4 of July when I am home on my 2 week R&R with the family, before heading back out here to finish my year tour!

God Bless you all and hope you're having a great holiday back there in the states.

Shaun

So question with the Brisket I am planning on getting for the 4th of July, should I wrap it in foil when I smoke it?  Does that help maintain the juices??

Thank you all!   Happy Memorial Day!
