Deer Meat Jerky Question

    Hello All!  First time in here.  

    I have some deer meat from last year that is in the freezer, in vacuum bags.  Is it safe to thaw it out and make jerky with it?  What would be the best way to thaw it?  Any special considerations?

    It looks fine, no freezer burn.

    Should be good to use.

    I would let it thaw in the fridge.

    Nice and slow.

    Thank you!  I will put it in the fridge tonight and start Friday on the jerky.

    Best & safest way to thaw anything is in the fridge. Also frozen foods no matter what they are are safe to eat forever if kept frozen. Time given for storage are for taste & quality only.

    I've had meats, wild & store bought, vacuum packed and frozen for over 3 years, and I couldn't tell a difference from anything frozen for a month.
