Greeting,
After lurking and reading for probably a year, I figured it was about time I took 20 seconds and set up membership here. This forum has become my favorite for smoking and q info.
Ok, off to the obligatory info on myself.....
In law enforcement for 34 years, semi-retired (as in retired on Friday and started back on Monday at the same job as a 38 hours a week "part timer", love the two checks though). Started smoking meats on a Holland Grill classic in the early 1980's but recently gave this to a good friend after their gasser gave up the ghost and I bought a Weber Summit S-670 uber gasser. Bought a 18.5" WSM in 2005 and never looked back as charcoal is in a league all it's own in terms of flavor. Still have the WMS, and have added a Weber Q 100 for portability and picked up an Orion cooker for $40 at a HD clearance (odd little thing, but it makes a nice place to prop my WSM lid when I check the meat).
I'll stop rambling now.....
Oh, as a test of posting photos, here is one from 2005 of my smoking meats buddy making sure the squirrels stay in the trees.
