Curing inside of grill

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by cansmoke, Aug 18, 2013.

  1. I have rust both inside and outside of grill [char-griller pro offset] and purchased paint to treat outside.  I was told by people at bbq store to smear the inside of the unit with lard and get a hot fire going.

Will this really work. If so, how much lard do I need?[IMG]

  2. Buy a box of it, Your Local Grocery Store has it.  Use it, if that is not enough, go get another and finish it off.

I use this for coating my Cast Iron frying pans when not in use.
