First off i have to tell you that your project turned out great hope mine turns out half as good
so after saying that i have to ask a couple of questions
#1 i have looked through about 15 different builds on here and about half insulate the fire box my question is have you found that it helps enough to make all the extra work worth it
and #2 I noticed on your stack you made the box coming off the end and attached the stack to it my question is on my tank i will have room to put it on top next to the end of the tank or should i add the box like you did thank for any help Steve

I insulated my box. I think it helps conserve fuel. Box still gets hot though. I did not do a plenthum box. Didn't even know what one was. I like mine right out of top of tank. Haven't ever had a problem with it. I did stick it 6" into tank to help hold heat. Good luck with your build and your passion will make it a great ride

#1 - i wont insulate another one. It does help but with the extra cost and work that goes into it, in my opinion, its not worth it. But i wanted to go all out on it and so i did.

#2 - i did that cause i like the look of it and it made it so i could use the entire length of the CC for cooking space and it wouldnt interfere with the door opening. I like the box better then just welded to the end or making a 90 degree out of the pipe.

Hey thanks for the response I think im going to put a warming box on top of my fb so i dont believe i will insulate it also by adding the box i believe i will have to go out the top with the stack

Well stainless is on it which means its done for awhile. Time to enjoy it now.

Future upgrades, diamond plate angle for the corners of the storage box, nice set of aluminum wheels to replace the chevy rallys, add a water tank and pump setup for sink. (Right now it works off water hose hookup.

Really nice job. Quite impressive. I know Abilene, I did that town back when ya drove to Pinkies to get liquor!  So I know you'll probably laugh when I suggest this. With that nice paint job, I would really recommend a Trailer hitch type mud flap. Don't laugh, you might want to haul it to Houston some day! Just something to knock down the dirty water. I would see if you could get one of these that you mound when towing and dismount when not. You don't wanta look like a nerd with your pocket protector and no trailer behind you.

Just a thought, with such a pretty paint job.

Really great job.

Yeah im sure itll end up dirty, paint chipped, scratched and everything else before long. Good thing is, paint is cheap and dont take long to throw another coat on it haha.
