I picked up 3 bags (brown lunch bag) of Pear wood shavings from a local wood worker (clean untreated). I want to smoke some cheese with it and was wondering if you could put the shavings into the A-Maze-N tube smoker and if this would work.

Anyone ever tried this.

Thanks

Haven't tried that, but I would think that with shavings you may get too much smoke for cheese as shavings/chips tend to make more smoke than pellets.

I've used chips in my tube and it worked fine. I'd guess you'd need to pack the shavings in pretty tightly or they'd burn up too quickly and/ or produce too much smoke like Chewmeister said.
