I just bought an MES30 with an AMNPS tray. I have the tray mounted to the left of the heating element. Since the tray is below the meats, do you guys cover it somehow to avoid the juices from dripping on it? If so, how do you guys do it?

I don't put any meat on the rack directly above the tray. I put a disposal aluminum pan turned upside down to act as a shield for the AMNPS tray. Others here have made a "tent" over the AMPNS. Not exactly sure how they did it, they might have taken metal coat hangars and made some type of frame for aluminum foil to attach to. But I have not done anything like that. The "mailbox mod" would solve that problem too. I'll try to find the link for you if you are interested in doing the mod.

I have a Masterbuilt 44 inch propane unit. The bottom most rack is covered with aluminum foil to act as a diffuser. Most of what I use this for is cold smoking cheeses, butter, etc.. However, if I'm using heat and doing anything that might drip, a large disposable aluminum foil pan half filled with water goes on that rack.
