I was in a situation where i wanted some chicken legs for an hour or so then some pulled pork for dinner

could i just set up a normal smoking system on my grill put the pork where it normaly sits over the drip pan but just put the chicken legs closer to the coals in order for them to cook at the higher temperture they need both for skin and texture ? the pork would still be smoking at around 200 -250 temp but the chicken would be at around 300-350
