This is the fire box to my home built cooker/smoker. What can I mount on top of this area??? Haven't seen anything so looking for what you have seen. Surface for frying? Surface for boiling?? Let me know.. Here's what mine looks like and I can make whatever.... I just think it is an un tapped resource above the fire box...

    I'd do a warming box w/ waterpan

Wow that thing looks like it is ready to launch a missile [IMG]... Just kidding. Definetly a warmer box or at least a squared off plate mounted on top to warm things. Nice shop [IMG]

I built a coffee and bean warmer on top of my fire box.

Please take note of the gap at the bottom. You must allow a space on the side plates so convection can work properly off the firebox. That gap is import so heat will move up and away and new air can be drawn in from the bottom.

I modeled it in solid works 3d one inch will give you great convection.
