I'm wanting to start getting into competition smokeing.. what smoker would you guys recommend?? I don't want to spend thousands starting out but do want a good quality smoker. Any help will be appreciated.

I'm sure the Weber Smokey Mountain will get suggested. I believe the 22.5" model runs at $350 Then you have the offsets like Lang that I'm sure will also get highly recommended. I'm guessing as long as you can cook good BBQ with what you got now that will suffice while you get started and see what other competitors are running and get ideas what you want to run.

Like Ray said, you see a lot of WSM's at comps.

Ecto does real well with his UDS in comps.

So you don't need to spend a lot to get started.
