Checking in from Dublin area (NW Columbus) Ohio area.

Just picked up a new Masterbuilt Pro smoker and am already underway.  Seasoned it last night and have a 3lb Pork Sirloin Roast up to 120* after several hours of brining and seasoning it.   Posted some pics in the MB Thread but here are some for the intro post as well.

Looking forward to learning all I can and satisfying the inner carnivore in me this summer.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your new smoker.  How long do you think that tank will fuel the smoker?  Thought about getting one for those weeks when we go camping.

Good morning and welcome, congrats on the new smoker, be sure and post pictures of your pork roast.

Hey you vertical propane guys, do you recommend something fireproof under a smoker on a wood deck?
I don't see it as necessary at all.  The burner is pretty far off the deck and the wood chips aren't going to fall out and set anything a blaze.    I just started using mine but I stand by my points still.    You're not far from me so you know the weather today....but I'm going to put an umbrella up and smoke some ribs anyway!

I've never been around one of those rigs so I don't know their quirks.

But around here you can see a lot of wood apartment balconies with cheap propane gas grills, scary to think of what could happen with some unattended cheap fatty bratwurst.  My sister used to live in Miami, and Dade County does not allow any grills in any multi-story apartment buildings.

I'm with you on the apartment thing.    Drive around Cbus and you'll notice renters vs home owners (homes in decent areas) are night in day in what they buy.    I've seen my share of renters with $20 charcoal set ups that I wouldn't trust on my deck.

This set up is solid and very nice.    Going out while there's a break in the clouds to spring clean my Weber Grill now  :)

Yeah I'll be running the Weber for chicken today, q-view later.

I'm on a concrete patio, and the walls are stucco. I've seen pictures of vinyl siding melted by grills.

Edited to add, that pork looks great!

The left overs were even better!   Again, sliced pork on a bun, slaw, City BBQ Sauce (Yum) - I like it sweet and a nice beer.   Such a great lunch after busting out the grass mowing.   My two neighbors came over and tried some too  :)           Ribs are on the smoker now.     It's warming up nice outside but breezy so temps are fluctuating from 200 to 230*.       Crazy.    I need to get some bricks to put around the base to block some wind.   Otherwise, they are doing good.     Baby Back Ribs on the 2-2-1 plan.

Hey
