Not that you would celebrate having it done, but my wife had put it off for some time while I suffered with it a little over a year ago. Mrs Flash lost her best friend recently to colon cancer and she finally relented, then passed with flying colors. She did the new prep also and didn't suffer a bit (Hey, no fair, that was the worst part!!) At any rate since she had to starve herself, I told her I would smoke another Chuck Roast along with our Prime Rib soup bones.

A little yellow mustard, Jeff's Rub with alittle Grillmates Steak Rub.

Same for the Prime Rib Bones. I plan on smoking them for a few hours, then finish them on the gas grill.

About 4 hours into smoke. Using Turkey Oak and Hickory
Sprayed it occasionally with a 75/25 mixture of Apple Juice and Makers Mark.

At 165º I wrapped in foil and planned on taking it to 210º on suggestion of several members. Also put on the Prime Rib bones and would pull them off at 135º internal.

Chuckie pulled real nice and had a nice bark also. I grilled the Prime Rib bones to around 140º internal.

Dinner is served. Dennis's Dirty Rice and Prime Rib Bones. We plan on mixing what was left over of the pulled Chuck into the rice for some nice Tortilla wraps for later.

Total smoking time 6 1/2 hours

Great meal and congrats again to my wife Cherie.

Great looking smoke. Hope the test comes out OK.

Good to hear your wife passed. My mom died from that.
Great food also, thx for sharing.

I had history, losing my dad to it. My eldest brother came close, but caught it in time. Really with the new prep, there is no reason to put it off. Great d r u g s, you feel nothing and it's over before you know it.

Good to hear I had it done a few years ago and had drink a gallon of that stuff!

If that doc gives you the script for Half Lytly or whatever it is called, throw it out. Get the OTC MiraLax instead. Cheaper and when my wife mixed it with Apple Juice, she couldn't even tell the difference.

Points for both of you getting screened. Almost nobody in the US should die from this disease, yet it is still in the top 3 of cancers for men and women.

I due for my second one in the next few months, What is this new prep you speak of and is it prescription ??
cause if it is i'm going to be one whiney bastage w/ my doc to keep from drinking that
lemon flavored camel piss again.

I never heard of using Miralax for a prep.

Just make sure you do it right, because the only thing worse than doing the prep, is repeating it cause ya didn't get cleaned out the first time!

Glad to know Mrs. Flash came out on the good side of the test. Also, thanks for the great Q View, excellent way to celebrate a happy day.

Good looking grub...LOVE those Chuckies!!! I been doing mine in the pan the whole time, but after seeing yours, I'm going to rack smoke it first to grow some bark before I pan and foil it for the finish. Great job!!

This is something I need to do again. I remember the gallon of sewer water. About 7 years ago ( while in my early mid 40's ) I lost about half my blood due to a polyp. While at the hospital they said you better get this done every year from now on. Heck I can remember the whole thing, even though when injecting the sedative in the IV the doc said; let me know when you feel this burn. LOL, I let it burn for awhile and he said; dont you feel it yet? I said yeah it's just starting now. But still, I remember watching the whole thing on the monitor. It just sucks paying your own insurance, and the costs keep going up, so changed plans from Almost $1000 a month to 400. But now have to pay all procedures, office and perscriptions. At least I don't take perscriptin *****. At least the deductables are lower than the other plan. I know, I know I need to go in and spread em LOL. Congrats on the out come.
