Just happened to have 2 smoked "yard birds" in the freezer. So I cheated from the start, not beer can, But I had to try this. Did 1 bird at a time in case I screwed something up. Watched the video again and was not sure about the skin. He used a hotplate so was unable to see the flame as to low, med etc.. Anyway, first skin was somewhat burnt, but still used it. (multitasking). Second skin I kept a close eye on and kept it moving. End product ... GREAT. I'll be doing this again real soon.

HEHEHE......FBJ.........we already discussed this video in another thread........its a good one...........plan on doing that ALWAYS to my beer can shoved up the butt of a chicken

dude

I kept it on low. The fat foams up for awhile then starts turning like regular grease again. I let it go a few minutes longer, then pulled off the heat. Turned out chrunchy. Hope this helps you.

That looks excellent!!! Now if I can keep the 13 year old carnivore from eatin it all up before I get to it!! He would think I was cutting it up for him! I will definitely have to do this.

This was posted on another forum that I visit and thought I would share it here.

Nice use of the chicken skin........anyone try this already or already do it this way?
I know this is a pretty old post, but I am thinking about trying this.  However I have a couple of questions.

After he takes the chicken off the grill and has the chicken on the pan, ready to "pull".  Is this the next day?  Were the chickens cooled over night?

Then he says that he is going to put the pulled chicken on the smoker, but doens't make any other reference to it.  Any idea what he did?

Thanks!
