First post and checking in to say hi. My name is Jason and I live in Findlay Ohio, 36 years old, married, no kids. I work as a reliability tech for the Dow Chemical Co. I have been wanting to get into smoking for about five years, just never made it to the top of the list. A friend recently bought a Chargriller and after a few uses decided he did not like cooking with it and wanted to toss it. My wife bought me the side fire box for Christmas and I have been playing with it ever since. Looking forward to posting and learning this new art.

Nice to see another smoker from Ohio! I'm new myself -- but there are some veteran smokers here from our state. Lots of people here to learn from!

I'm getting ready to get a Char-Griller myself. If you haven't checked out the posts on the mods to that unit I'd suggest you do. They al make sense to me, and seem to help get the most out of the unit.

Like others have said...welcome!

Welcome to SMF. Congrats on the new Char Griller. I've had mine for 2 years now and I love it, as I'm sure you will too. Don't forget to ask questions here. There are a lot of great people here to help.

Hello Jason, and welcome to the SMF. Looks like you'll be having some fun real soon. It's all good my friend.

Thanks guys for all the replies! I like it when I find a "active" forum. Not saying I will post a bunch, but its nice knowing that I have a place to get a lot of quick replies. Thanks again.

Jason
