Checking in

Joined a couple weeks ago but finally checking in.

Born and raised in south La. so food is a big part of my life.

I enjoy all types of outdoor cooking. I have a gas grill and an electric smoker (Cookshack 55).

I have had this smoker for around 10 years and just love it. The only bad thing about it I you don't get to do anything while smoking other than drink a few beers.

Just recently my charcoal grill died so while looking for a new one came across a barrel grill with side fire box. It is just a cheap grill that works great for charcoal grilling but sucks for smoking. Guess my next toy will be a quality wood burning smoker.

I really enjoy this forum and look forward to chatting with all.

Hello Al and Welcome to our addiction.  A word of warning: There is no 12 step program for this one!  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

I also have a cookshack for apx ten years. I love it read all of Smokie Okies 101's on their site. I enjoy the lazy smoking
