Check your stores for display models for sales

I was shopping at my local big box Wally World store today, and saw this floor model of the Weber 14.5 Smokey Mountain. It was marked $154.  No instructions. No cover.  With a couple of scratches here and there on the lid.  It was the last one in the store.  I said how low could you go?  The outdoor manager offered $99.  I said sold.  Except I was out on a run, and didn't have my wallet.  Told him I'd be back in an hour and to hold it for me.  I came back, found the cover laying on the floor over by another Weber grill, and he ringed it out at $89.  Bottom line, check your stores for closeout prices on floor models if you're in the market.  You might find an incredible deal.  I added a Nomex gasket kit from an online store for $17.50 and an Unknown BBQ hinge for $44 and I have a nice new tool to use.  I already own a MES 30", but wanted to start playing with charcoal.  It's just myself and my wife, so to me, this is the perfect size for 2!

Nice score, I know HD was having a hell of a deal on KFB charcoal the other day 2 bags for 9 bucks and some change.

Nice score! Can't beat the WSM line for easy to use charcoal smokers. Paired with a good remote therm you can smoke anything. My mini-WSM's are my go to smokers!

I best keep out of the stores, if I brought home another smoker, BBQ, or any accessory I'd have to move to Idaho or live in the new shed I built!

haha. DS I'm in same exact boat! I was told I could get another if I got rid of my silver 22 inch weber. So I have some good friends that make dang good margaritas that are moving and need a grill so I am giving them it. Only used it for a year then I got a gold because of the therm, hinged grate, and ash catcher. So today I picked up a brand new smokey mouthing 14.5 for 75 bucks. Will break it in tomorrow with some chicken thighs! Now just need my rocky Mountain spices to get here!
