I have been searching the forums looking for anything relating to this problem but can't seem to find anything.  My SFB ashpan doesn't completely seal when I go to shut it.  Just wondering if anybody else has had these problems and any solutions would be appreciated.  The lid won't completely close either.  If anything I guess I will just get a bigger hammer and solve the problem old school.

Thanks for any help

My ash pan fits snugly.  You must have a bad one.  My lid fits pretty well, but I lay a brick on the handle just because I am too cheap to waste any extra fuel.

Good luck and good smoking!

I had a gap on mine to, i just hand bent it a little and it fit much better. I guess if you can't bend it back some you could use some hi-temp silicone around the edge to help seal it up.Or thin stove gasket.
