I just purchased a char broil electric digital smoker and am having problems with the meat probe. When I set it up using the cook temp and time settings, everything works like a charm. When I set it up using the cook temp and desired internal temperature with the probe, the smoker temperature keeps climbing to well over 300 deg. It seems the system is not referencing the cooking temp that I have set. Cant get a hold of customer service. Anyone else experienced this?

I have the same smoker but I have never cooked with the internal temp setting. I usually just set a time and temp. I bought another meat probe because the one in my smoker seemed to be off a few degrees, but from what I have read that seems like a common thing.
