I started up. My smoker an hour and a half ago and it was running clean with tbs. I chucked a couple more wood chunks in and now its been 20 mins or. So and still Billowing white smoke using a WSM with a combination of cherry, apple, and hickory if that makes a difference. How long should it take before the white smoke goes away?

Yes running water in the pan. But it doesnt look like steam. Thick white Billowing smoke

Using ro lump, and yes the. Chunks flare up as they light on fire

Thick white smoke could be smoke and steam together, have you opened the door to see what is going on in your smoker?  I know when I add a liquid pan to my smoker, after it gets to heat, I have thick white smoke.

As stated above, it is most likely a combination of steam and smoke.  It is not a problem, but you will have to realize that you are laying more smoke flavor on your product during this period and smoke times may have to be adjusted.
