Canadian Tire back in the mix with 30" eletric

Canadian Tire .. ( Canadian national chain with a store in most populated areas ) seems to have struck an agreement with Bruce Foods/ or whoever built their units and are providing a 30" eletric smoker under the Cuisinart brand name .. Just listed on their site in last few days

Canadians have to pay a high premium for shipping and duty for the Masterbuilt units as there is no national seller .. Canadian Tire carried them at one time ..

Looks like they have them in stock for the spring in larger areas .. Serach this form for " Cajun Injecter Smoker ". Some info is here. ..

Masterbuilt was a C. I. supplier for awhile , according to some posts but then it was thought Bruce Foods went to a new supplier , and then they seemed to get away from the windowed units completely. Maybe the manufactures bought masterbuilt's old tooling ( masterbuilt redesigined the front recently ) and went with cuisinart brand nameb... Or it is Masterbuilt again with a second line and a name Canadians are used to ...

On sale this week .. $199.oo .. 30% off regular price .. When one considers that Cabela,s is the only one shipping a MES to Canada , and they only do it by AIR. ( extra $120.00 to $150.00 ). This is a great price .. Can buy many elements for $300.00 :-)

Ck out the reviews .. Search Cajun Injector smoker 30" with window ( saw one post it had a weak element .... Could just have been a guy with a 14/2 power cord and a 100 ft run ...... )

I bought my MES 30 in London Ontario, at TSC.  Not sure if TSC is out East or not just though I would mention they carry Masterbuilt.  I got mine on sale about a month ago for 249.99 , 100 dollars off.

I remember finding one other online retailer across Canada but not the windowed model .. and that was listed for $100.00 more than what you had to pay ... so you got a great price ..

I have used mine several times. Although the temp is out in the colder the the ambient temp (I now use an analog oven thermometer and set the smoker accordingly), this smoker works awesome.

I have found that soaking various sized chips and wrapping them in foil pack with air holes punched will give you up to 3 hours of nice light smoke. If you place the foil pack in the smoker box before firing up the smoker, you should be able to set it, check the temp and time, walk away! Easy peasy! And no expensive pucks to buy!

It also has great recovery time, thanks to a 700W heater.
