    Hi All,

My name is Rick.  I am Canadian but have been living in the UK for about 18 years.

I love to BBQ and smoke meats.  I have a kettle smoker and a small cold smoker.

My dream has always been to open up a small BBQ type restaurant.

Recently I have been to the Philippines and have fallen in love with the country and the people there, not too mention i have met a very special girl there.

I hope to move there in the near future and maybe invest in a small place geared around NFL football themed BBQ and cocktail bar.

I will be looking at Angeles City and i believe this is a good place as there is a huge American influence there.

That is me in a nutshell, I hope to get to know many of you and look forward to some good advice and guidance in my future dreams and aspirations.

I will be very grateful for advice especially from those living in the Philippines but will also look forward to hearing from people around the world.

    All the best

Good Luck in your venture. The people are the best they will help you as much as possible. My wife and I have a small rental unit there in Pasay not to far away.

You will have some serious comp for BBQ the bar will be your savior.

    Have fun Mabuhay

Thank you for your welcoming Richie

Yes the key is to try to find something just a little different, so i am doing lots of research and watching lots and lots of Triple D :)

Might look at a Philippine version of a Coyote Ugly type bar, just milling over a few things.

I will be there for 2 weeks in September/October so will do some advance scouting.

Maybe a filipino/american fusion BBQ? Or introduce some Tailgate type bbq foods to them, maybe even a tailgate themed restaurant.

Welcome, Good Luck and keep up posted on it!

    Thanks for the ideas dougmays,

Will certainly look into that, tailgate sounds great.

I have been down to London the last 8 years to see the NFL games played there and of course the tailgate party is always good.

Not the traditional tailgate you get in the US but good food good company and of course cold beer.

I will be searching EBAY for all kinds of NFL merchandise so that i will have something to kit it out with :)
