Can anyone help with this rub?

  1. I had a rub recipe that's sweet followed by a nice heat. Had is the key word in that sentence. My wife helped me out running to the store to get the ingredience for it. While she grabbed everything she lost the paper that I had with the amounts of each spice. I remember parts of it due to making it before.

    It has:

    1 cup brown sugar

    1 cup white sugar

    garlic powder

    onion powder

    kosher salt

    paprika

    cayenne pepper

There may be 1 or 2 more spices in it but I don't remember. I've looked all over for a similar recipe but can't really find anything. Can anyone help with this?

Man that's tough losing your recipe...its hard to say, as there are hundreds of good rub recipes out there.  Many sweet recipes with some heat on the back end will have some chili powder and/or some black pepper in them, along with the cayenne.

  3. Oh this wasn't my own recipe, it was one I found either on a forum or on a website. All I ever changed was cutting the paprika in half and adding chipotle in it's place. I believe you're right on the black pepper part, but i do know there wasn't any chili powder. I do have a small amount left so I will experiment and see if I can get it. In the mean time I'll keep looking and reading and keeping my fingers crossed someone here may know what I'm talking about.

    Thanks
