Ok, here is the watering hole, meeting place, local hangout for all things related to the Cookshack smoker.

I have taken notice that there are CS owners here at SMF and they do post, but the postings are sort of scattered. So post here and share your success and failures (we all have failures), ask questions provide answers, etc. And enjoy!

  2. Hello All,

I agree that it would be great to hear from some other Cookshack owners.

I recently bought a Cookshack Smokette 025.  In the past I have used an electric Brinkman upright and also a Weber gas grill to do some smoking.  With those smokers I was able to turn out some good BB ribs and pork butt.  I tried a brisket once and that didn't turn out so well with the Brinkman.  To date with the Cookshack, I have continued success with BB ribs and pork butt.  I did some chicken halved brined a few weeks ago.  Those turned out with quite an overpowering smoke flavor so I didn't care for them eating them as is.  Although it made for great enchiladas.

I hope to try a turkey and make some bacon in the near future.  Also I have been speaking with others regarding a cart or table to get my smoker off the ground to a more manageable work height.

I have never brined but I might give it a shot. As for poultry, never done that either. Strictly pork
