My wife bought me a Cabelas jerky canon for my B-day. What size casings can I use on the snack stick nozzle. Or would I be better off buying the 3/8" nozzle from LEM. I would like to make snacksticks with a casing what is my best approach.

Hi there,

I used 19mm callogen casings with my Cabela's jerky canon and didn't have any issues.   They're a little more flexible when you soak them in a bowl of water first, but you don't have to.    Just personal preference.   The snack sticks turned out real good.

You might see yourself moving up to a sausage stuffer or meat grinder to stuff your casings in the future if you make this a hobby.   I just recently upgraded to a Cabela's Pro meat grinder for $120 which grinds up the meat and has sausage stuffer tubes to attach.   Much easier than using the canon, but the canon is still a great tool.   Again, all up to personal preference.

Good luck and post pics when you're done!

I have a #32 grinder that runs off a 1/2 Hp motor. The guns is going to be used for small jobs. Thanks for the help JustinKP
